Dr. Devprakash Choudhary is India’s first surgeon to be awarded an M.Ch in Organ Transplantation. He currently serves in the Department of Renal Transplant Surgery at PGIMER Chandigarh, one of the country’s premier centers for kidney and pancreas transplantation and the national apex institute for pancreas transplantation. An alumnus of AIIMS New Delhi (MS) and PGIMER (M.Ch), he also holds the distinction of being an IPTA Multi-Organ Transplant Fellow.
At the forefront of clinical innovation, Dr. Choudhary’s research focuses on expanding the donor pool, improving long-term graft survival, and translating cutting-edge scientific advances into accessible, high-quality clinical care, particularly at the grassroots level.
Internationally recognized for his contributions, Dr. Choudhary has received more than a dozen prestigious international awards. He is an invited reviewer for top-tier transplant journals and international congresses, and an active member of leading societies including TTS, ASTS, ESOT, IPTA, and IPITA.
Outside the operating room, he is a long-distance runner, dedicated yoga practitioner, boxing enthusiast, and lifelong learner, bringing the same intensity, focus, and discipline to every facet of his life as he does to the art of transplantation.
