Dr. Carolina Magalhães Costa is a pediatric surgeon specializing in liver transplantation in children. She is currently pursuing her PhD at Hospital Sírio-Libanês, Brazil. Her research focuses on surgical techniques and outcomes in pediatric liver transplantation, aiming to improve long-term results for patients.
Dr. Costa’s study titled “Double vs single hepatic artery anastomosis in pediatric left liver grafts: a reassessment of outcomes” was recognized with the IPTA Congress Scientific Award for the 2025 IPTA Congress in Berlin, Germany. She was also the recipient of the IPTA Outreach Fellowship Award in 2023.
